What a hassle. D:
« on: December 19, 2010, 06:22:26 am »
So, after yeeears of being into iM@S, I finally convinced my 'rents to get me a Japanese Xbox 360. And of course, FedEx shipping...so it was supposed to get here a few days ago.

Customs intercepted it, and this is where the hassle falls into play.

They sent a form to me (and supposedly, to Play-Asia as well). A "statement regarding the importation of radio frequency devices capable of causing harmful interference", asking for things like an FCC ID, Manufacturer Name and Address, etc.

I guess the "harmful interference" would be the Slim's ability to do wireless internet (the old 360's don't do that, so I've come to understand...?).

Has anyone else had this problem? :( Like...I wonder if Customs takes all of the new 360s imported or if mine just got caught in a random check. I can't fill out the form so I guess I have to try to wait for Play-Asia to.

Plus I'm like, dying from impatience. Hasn't customs ever seen an Xbox 360 before?

Oh god.  I'm so sorry that happened to you ]:  I *think* it might be a random check because my 360 came in pretty fast (thank you FedEx), and it had to go through US customs since the FedEx office is in the States.  (according to the tracking that happened).

I think you have to take up the problem with Play-asia, and hopefully they can do something about it...

If they don't fill it out by Monday, I'll email Play-Asia and ask them about it myself (as the Customs office doesn't do anything on weekends @.@)

At least I can have faith in that once it's over, the Xbox'll be here in a flash. It's in the state right next to mine...so close, and yet so far DX
