Arms and hands are always a pain to do. Hands ESPECIALLY can go f**k themselves!

Wait, Europe?
Me and my family are going to Europe (London and Paris) this Saturday night, so I'll be on a hiatus for 10 days.

Dat coloring. Seriously, how do you do the shading? I've never been able to do it properly outside of using a pen for comic book-style shading, but that wears the pen out too quickly.

Shading wise, I use a lighter color like orange or lighter cool colors like parma violet or in this case light blue (for whites only) for lighter ones and purple or ultramarine for darker ones. For skin tones, I use the combination of brown, goldenrod, pink, peach, and light peach depending on the subject. Next, I use the colors I wish to use and use similar colors from there on. Then I use white to blend. As for Makoto's hair, I use a combination of light umber and white for highlights and black and dark brown for shading. I then use white to contrast parts of her hair.

Hooray, I came back from the dead after dealing with those college applications. Here's a preview of Mika to celebrate. Still not done with her so...

Well, I've never dropped by to offer my thoughts in this thread, so may as well drop by now. =P

I like your style. It looks nice, and your coloring is just perfect. Like, how do you do that?
Hope to see more form you. :)

Late thanks for the compliments.

Update:

Since that everyone's into an artsy mood, I may as well continue working on my next project: 765PRO ALLSTARS in watercolor. How long will that finished depends on the watercolor's cooperation and my motivation to do it.

Ooh, that sounds like it'll look really nice. And given your track record, I look forward to seeing it!

As a side note, I love that doodle. The shading is perfect, those hands are beautiful, and I don't know what the little creature is, but whatever it is, I love it.

It's Reuniclus, the cute green jellybean homunculus Pokemon. One of my faves =V

That IS a cute Pokémon. Now that I see a reference, I'm even more impressed by how well-drawn it is. Even with reference, I can't draw Pokémon that well.
