Well, Captain Falcon is a racer and they managed to make up a moveset for him. And also, seeing all the crazy things people do with MUGEN, you could potentially make a moveset for any of the idols if you get creative.

Makoto's moveset would be martial arts, Yukiho would use a shovel as a weapon, Hibiki could sic her pets at opponents, Yayoi can have a high touch slap, Haruka could trip and fall on enemies, Chihaya could shoot damage dealing music notes... Definitely possible.

Hibiki could sic her pets at opponents

Or just run over people with the Takatsuki tricycle...

Ritsuko could deliver some of the heavy fighting she uses in Puchimasu!... I'd like to see that.

I think the lesson here is that we would all benefit from the crazy movesets you could give to the idols.

Ugh, mega-clunky Mugen videos.

I did like how it used some of Haruka's more obscure material though.

Just because Namco is helping Nintendo doesn't mean iM@S is going to be in it.

Think of the people who haven't heard or even seen iM@S before, they would think it's a waste of 3D animation/polygon making for these characters.

Just like Fire Emblem in Melee, right? Oh wait...

http://nintendoeverything.com/why-sakurai-isnt-keen-on-adding-fighting-characters-to-smash-bros/

The main creator of Smash Bros doesn't like putting fighting characters into the game. This link has more info on it.

I still personally doubt there would be iM@S characters as fighters, especially considering how stressful it is to put even a single character into the game.

There may still be a chance to see them as a trophy or sticker or something.

That's possible, but then I wouldn't expect anyone but the Dearly Stars crew, or at least everyone else would be running 1st Vision designs with the only reference being to Dearly Stars.
